RETRO WEDDING - NOT KITCH!

Looking for an unusual theme for you wedding?
You may want to do something a bit different for your special
day?
Well have you thought about going back on time to the days of the 50s 60s or 70s? ‘Retro’ is a culturally outdated or aged style, a look back to the past that will provoke memories or nostalgic tales of other eras.
When I think of anything retro,
it usually conjures up images of sticky out’ dresses with net
underskirts from the 50s, or shapeless micro mini skirts and
dresses from the 60s, and crimplene or pop art fashion in a
palette of clashing colours that have been thrown together and
don’t blend or even contrast together from the 70s.
Yes those eras did contain all of the above, but they actually
also had some very beautiful pretty ideas that were classy and
sophisticated.
But this is not always the case…. There is a fine line of course
between retro and Kitch! So you do have to be careful.
Think of Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe or Doris Day from the
50s. They were all icons and very fashionable and popular in
their time.

From the 70s you have Farrah Fawcett, Olivia Newton John and of
course the biggest icon of them all and a fashion leader……Miss
Piggy!

A lot of today’s much loved celebrities love the retro look, Gwen Stefani, Pink and Sienna Miller all favour the retro look.

So take a look back, enjoy a retrospective journey back to those
old days and maybe give your wedding a touch of retro!
