About
Hi, I will be a bridesmaid for my sister in May 2012. It will be the first time I have been involved in the wedding party or been to a wedding for that matter! I'm so excited! Expect lots of questions from this first time bridesmaid :D

by Vicky- Cheshire 7 months agoChoosing a bridesmaid dress
The bride has and groom have been planning their wedding on a budget and so have said to me to find a bridesmaid dress that costs £50 (talk about a mission!). The bride said that it can cost £10 more but that’s about as much leeway as i’m getting with my bridesmaid dress!
The wedding is having a gold and purple colour scheme and so my dress is going to be purple; ‘eggplant’ to be precise, which is good as purple is my favourite colour. I don’t know whether the dress will have detailing like a coloured ribbon around the waist but that is a last minute thing and can be added later if the dress needs it.
The bride has an asymmetrical wedding dress and does not want her bridesmaids to have asymmetrical dresses too for one reason:
1) She doesn’t want the style of her wedding dress and the bridesmaid dress to match. She thinks they should be different as to signify to the guests that it is her big day.
I think she wants strapless bridesmaids dresses which will be a nice fit and very different from her asymmetrical dress.
So as we have the price, colour and style chosen, it should be easy to find the right dress, right? WRONG!
But there seems to be things right and wrong with each bridesmaid dress we see. Some are too expensive but in the right colour and style, some are the right price and style but just a shade lighter or darker than what is wanted and some are the right price and colour but are way too expensive!
We even went shopping for bridesmaid dresses on the highstreet at shops like Debenhams, BHS, Oasis, Warehouse, Coast, Monsoon and Next but to no avail. So I guess it’s back to shopping on the internet for the perfect bridesmaid dresses.

by Vicky- Cheshire 7 months agoBeing a Bridesmaid
In April 2011 was studying at university when I received a phone call from my sister. I thought it was a general phone call asking me what i’d been up to, or how was university going but the good news she was going to tell me was going to map out the future months.
She was getting married!
Of course I was over the moon for her and at first I couldn’t help but be very excited at becoming her bridesmaid. I started to think about the dress, the flowers, the perfect venue and making myself up. Plus it would be the first wedding I have been to let alone be in the wedding party.
But as the months went on and no wedding planning had been done I began to get a little worried about the responsibility of being a bridesmaid would have. I don’t want the bride to be stressed worrying about little things on her big day, I want her to be relaxed and to enjoy her day to the fullest.
